SYNOPSIS

Amid a confusing and divisive internet, a collection of unlikely heroes maintain the last good place online: Wikipedia. Their mission – free access to knowledge – faces unwavering challenges as misleading AI, disinformation and rising authoritarianism erode the concept of fact. As greedy corporations and oppressive governments use information as a weapon, regular people find power in this community-driven encyclopedia.

Production Updates:

To our donors, THANK YOU! Your support in December allowed January to be a busy month for RABBIT HOLE. We wrapped three critical shoots — two with a Venezuelan Wikipedian who is living in exile in Madrid after government persecution and an interview shoot in NYC with an “encyclopedia expert” who contextualized the history of encyclopedias and the rise of Wikipedia as the world’s information backbone.

Throughout January, Meg was also editing the film’s materials which allows us to identify any gaps in the story and efficiently target our remaining shoots. In Early Feb we were honored to show a sample of RABBIT HOLE at a major industry convention “Future of NonFiction” on Columbia University Campus.

The growing momentum for RABBIT HOLE means we have been able to move quickly and shift our fundraising goals — Our new target is to raise 150k by April 1 2026.

This timeline allows us to wrap production and dive into the edit ASAP so we can submit RABBIT HOLE to film festivals by September 2026.

We have remaining shoots we still need to fundraise for in Paris, DC, Spokane and Philadelphia.

This moment is pivotal. Political efforts to undermine Wikipedia are

accelerating, and once those decisions are finalized, the opportunity for

public impact narrows. This film needs to exist before that window closes. Your financial support makes this a reality.
